Arunachalam Muruganantham is an Indian Padma Shri award winner because he was innovating mini-machines which are used to manufacture low-cost Sanitary Pads.
Arunachalam Muruganantham was born into a family of handloom weavers in 1962 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, to A. Vanita and S. Arunachalam. His mother started working as a farm laborer when his father dead in a motor accident. Muruganantham gave up studies when he was 14 years old to support the family. He started doing odd jobs to support his family and earn a living. Muruganantham got married in 1998 with shanti.After marriage, Arunachalam found that his wife using dirty cloths as sanitary pads during menstruation due to the high cost of commercial sanitary napkins. He thought about this problem and was thinking to make a low cost sanitary pads that can use every indian woman.
As Arunachalam think he made a machines to make pads . After multiple failed attempts, it took him 2 years to discover the useable commercial pad with a perfect shape.
Now Time Akshay kumar played the role of Arunachalam Muruganantham ( Pad man) In the movie Pad man.
